   Here, the flounder is being measured by a Taxidermist in Hillard, Florida.

   This MONSTER FLOUNDER, shown above laying on top of our 94 quart cooler located on the front of the Flounder Barge, measured 29 inches long.

 

   The big flounder was laying in only 6" of water when Mark Brinson brought it aboard the Flounder Barge. We recorded this whole event on a VCR camcorder and will publish it soon!

   Pictured above from left to right, with a HUGE 29 INCH-LONG FLOUNDER, is Mark Brinson, Captain Mac Daniel of Flounder Gigging LLC, Michael Brinson and Murray Brinson. This was a fishing trip by three generations of the Murray family that won't soon be forgotten.

   Next, Murray Brinson gigs a nice Flounder from the side of the Flounder Barge.

   Michael Brinson gigs a large 22" long Flounder a few minutes later. It was laying underneath a white, sandy bottom in cyrstal-clear water on a few inches from the beach, and within a mile of Mark Brinson's huge Flounder.

   Here, Michael Brinson's Flounder measures a whopping 22" on the 94 quart cooler located on the front deck of the Flounder Barge. Flounder a few minutes later.

   This flounder gigging trip with the three generations of the Brinson family was among the most exciting outings in my flounder gigging career! The Brinson's all listened attentively during my Flounder Gigging 101 course as the three generation Brinson family learned how to spot Flounder, and how to properly gig their spotted Flounder.

   When the moment of truth arrived, Mark Brinson was able to harvest a monster flounder close to the same size as the World Record Flounder (caught in the same area of Nassau Sound-Amelia Island on December 23, 1983)!
